by | Jul 13, 2015 | Firm News, Motorcycle Accidents

Humans have certain responsibilities to one another. On the most basic level, each person must behave in a way that does not endanger the lives of others. This includes obeying traffic laws in order to prevent car and motorcycle accidents. Unfortunately, one man has recently been killed in a collision, leaving California police searching for the driver of a vehicle they believe was involved.

The accident happened one night in early July around 9:15 p.m.. According to reports, the California Highway Patrol received calls regarding the victim lying in the road. Upon arrival, they discovered that the motorcyclist and had passed away. Officers closed the road and began collecting evidence.

Reports indicate that they are searching for the driver of a black vehicle believed to have been involved. Witnesses claim that the car was speeding prior to the collision. The release of the identity of the 29-year-old victim was delayed in order to ensure that his family members were notified.

While most people are aware of the emotional toll fatal motorcycle accidents can have on surviving family members, some may not be fully aware of the additional financial stresses the unexpected loss of a family member can create. For example, the man’s family will have to cope with funeral expenses and may have also been depending on his wages to pay their bills. Once police identify the driver believed to be involved in the collision, the family of the deceased man could choose to pursue a claim for monetary damages in a California civil court. A verdict in their favor could reduce some of the stress typically created by the unexpected loss of a loved one.
