Many individuals in California choose to use modes of transportation other than a car. Some prefer to ride the bus, ride a bicycle or even walk to their destination. At times, these individuals may believe that, because they are not driving along the road in a vehicle, they will not fall victim to one of the many car accidents that occur every day.
Recently, an individual was killed and another suffered critical injury as they were waiting at a bus stop. Witnesses and aerial video indicate that as a car was leaving a shopping center, it crashed into another vehicle. The first car began to spin around and crashed into two benches where bus patrons were waiting for their ride.
One man waiting on the benches was thrown into the air and killed in the horrific crash. A young woman waiting on the benches also suffered critical injury as a result of the accident. This woman, as well as the driver, were both transported to a local hospital.
Car accidents occur almost daily along California’s roadways. Some of them are truly a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Many times, however, some sort of distraction or other factor contribute to the accident. Police are still investigating this accident to determine the cause of the crash.
Regardless, one family is left to grieve the loss of their loved one. Another family continues to worry about their loved one’s injuries. Both families are faced with financial and emotional turmoil as a result of this accident. It is possible that they will seek restitution for their losses through California’s legal system.
