California car accidents: 3 injured, 1 killed in 1-car accident

by | Dec 7, 2015 | Car Accidents, Firm News

There are many different things that can distract a driver. For some drivers in California, simply interacting with other occupants in a vehicle is sufficient to cause serious car accidents. Police are still working to determine what caused a driver to lose control, allegedly resulting in a fatal crash.

Police reports indicate that they received multiple calls regarding the accident at approximately 12:30 one morning in late November. The driver of a car allegedly lost control, causing the vehicle to exit the roadway and strike a concrete curb. The car eventually went airborne, landing on an embankment.

When police arrived at the scene, they discovered that two passengers in the backseat had been ejected. Both were transported to the hospital for treatment. The driver and front seat passenger were both trapped in the car. While firefighters were able to extricate the seriously injured driver, a 21-year-old man, and transport him to the hospital for treatment, the passenger died at the scene. Police say that alcohol and drugs were not contributing factors; however, they are seeking additional information.

Unfortunately, fatal car accidents can happen before a driver even knows what is happening. As a result of this car accident in California, two people are likely facing a long road to recovery while the family of the deceased victim is likely wondering how they will cope with life without their loved one. For many, the financial burdens created by such an accident can create a precarious financial situation. However, an experienced personal injury attorney can provide advice regarding legal options that could potentially result in an award of damages if negligence can be proved.
