Motorcycle accidents: California father of 3 killed

by | Oct 14, 2015 | Firm News, Motorcycle Accidents

Motorcycles are sometimes difficult to see. Many times, a car driver that is attempting to make a left turn will wait for traffic to clear. When all the traditional motor vehicles turn, they execute their turn unaware that a motorcyclist is in the area. By simply taking a few extra moments, some motorcycle accidents in California could be prevented. Unfortunately, one such accident has resulted in a fatality.

The accident occurred one afternoon in late September. Police say that a male motorcyclist was traveling south on a California road. Reports indicate that the driver of a truck attempted a left turn into the path of the motorcycle, resulting in a collision.

The motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital. Although he was reportedly wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, he later died from the injuries he suffered as a result of the collision. The investigation into the accident continues, and police say that the driver of the pickup truck has been cooperative.

Fatal motorcycle accidents are always tragic. This man — identified by family and friends — leaves behind a wife and three children, likely leaving his wife wondering how she will cope both emotionally as well as financially as a result of her loss. While it will likely provide little emotional relief, the man’s family has the option of filing a wrongful death lawsuit against the driver who is alleged to have caused the accident. A successfully presented case could allow the family some degree of financial stability as they cope with the loss.
