There are a variety of different ways that people in California can use the roadways. While many drivers of motor vehicles feel differently, bicyclists and pedestrians have just as much right to use the roadways. Unfortunately, car accidents involving traditional motor vehicles and pedestrians can have serious consequences for their victims. One family learned this first hand after its loved one passed away after being struck by a motor vehicle.
Police reports indicate that a 68-year-old man was in a crosswalk at approximately 9:30 a.m. one day in mid-February when he was struck. He was transported to an area hospital and was in critical condition at the time. Unfortunately, he died two days later.
Police say that the driver of the car that they believe struck the man remained at the scene. While the accident likely remains under investigation, drugs and alcohol are not suspected at this time. Anyone with information regarding the accident is asked to contact police.
The family members of the deceased man are likely devastated by the loss of their loved one.
