Unexpected maneuvers can cause car accidents in California

by | Jul 18, 2014 | Car Accidents, Firm News

One of the most dangerous things motorists will find on the road is other drivers. People can be unpredictable when behind the wheel and can make erratic maneuvers on the road which could potentially cause car accidents. According to reports, one motorist may have done exactly this recently in a fatal car crash in California.

The collision apparently happened around noon one day in mid-July when a car unexpectedly crossed multiple lanes of traffic in one maneuver on the freeway. The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the incident to find out exactly why the driver ended up losing control of her vehicle. The driver died as a result of crashing into an embankment on the right shoulder of the freeway.

One passenger in the backseat of the car was also pronounced dead at the scene of the incident. Another passenger who was sitting in the front seat was transported to a local hospital to receive treatment for moderate injuries. The 2006 Nissan Altima had reportedly been driving at approximately 65 miles per hour at the time of the crash. Authorities are planning on performing toxicology tests in order to find out if alcohol or drugs had played a role in causing the collision.

It is unfortunate when fatal car accidents, such as this one in California, occur. The families of the decedents will undoubtedly be significantly affected emotionally and even financially as a result of the deadly collision. Although nothing can reverse what had happened, the families of those who die in car crashes may find some solace in obtaining monetary reimbursement for the loss. Filing a wrongful death lawsuit may help to pay for expenses related to the aftermath of the crash.
