The accident happened one day in March. According to police reports, a 35-year-old man stopped in the entrance of a parking lot before attempting a left turn across the roadway. Unfortunately, a 31-year-old man on a motorcycle struck the sports utility vehicle, throwing him from the motorcycle.
Police say that the motorcyclist died immediately as a result of the injuries he suffered in the accident. The driver of the SUV and his passenger, a minor, were not injured. He now faces multiple charges, including murder as a result of his past history with drunk driving convictions. His bail has been set at $2 million.
The deceased victim left behind a 12-year-old daughter who is now facing life without her father. While family members are requesting help from the public to cover funeral expenses, surviving loved ones may struggle with the financial ramifications of their loss for years to come.
