The severity of a car accident can range from minor fender bender to a tragic fatality. Sadly, motorcycle accidents have the potential for serious, even deadly, injuries. Unfortunately, a California man recently lost his life in such an accident.
In July, a 49-year-old male motorcyclist was traveling west on a California road, approaching an intersection. A vehicle driven by a 50-year-old man was approaching the same intersection from the opposite direction. Police reports indicate that the second man slowed and then attempted to make a left turn, steering his vehicle into the path of the motorcycle.
Although the motorcyclist attempted to slow, he was unable to avoid a collision, striking the vehicle on the right side. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment of the serious injuries he suffered in the accident. Unfortunately, he died a short time later. It is unclear at this time if the surviving driver will face criminal charges, and the accident likely remains under investigation.
While most people logically understand that any moment with a loved one could be their last, the news of such a tragic, expected loss is often emotionally devastating.
